Throughout his explosive stand up act, Adam Ferrara blends brilliant
characterizations and hilariously accurate observations with a grace
and instinct that are most rare. Ferrara hits the stage like a loose
power line and electrifies the room; he is an undeniable talent. Though
Ferrara's ease of spontaneity makes his comedy seem effortless, Ferrara
has been carefully honing his comedic talent for years; meticulously
crafting his material. Ferrara has been called "an uncommon jewel."
Ferrara's
Comedy Beginnings
Voted class
clown by his graduating class in High School, Adam Ferrara has loved
comedy ever since he can remember... He just didn't know
he could make a living at it. But when his first try at an open mike
(at his hometown's premium comedy club, "East Side")
brought him an offer for paying work right afterwards he was off and
running and has never looked back.
Ferrara made his late night television debut on the "Arsenio Hall"
show. His stellar list of stand-up television appearances, over the
years, include multiple appearances on Comedy Central - including
two solo stand-up specials, as well as The Tonight Show with
Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, The
View, Politically Incorrect, The Late Late
Show with Craig Kilborn, VH-1s The List, and
FXs The Test. Ferrara was also a featured performer
at the Friars Club Roast of Rob Reiner.
Many of Ferrara's favorite pieces are available on his debut comedy
CD "HAVE SOME"
live from Pasadena's famed ICE HOUSE. Described as a "45 minute joy
ride," "Have Some" takes you on a hilarious journey through everyday
life with Adam; unleashing his wild imagination and brilliant observations
on subjects like: Girlfriends, Marriage, Fantasies, Grandparents,
Menopause, and Pregnant Men!
Adam
Ferrara's standout performance at the "JUST FOR LAUGHS," Montreal
Comedy Festival received the evening's sole standing ovation, and
was the highlight of the festival's television special on FOX that
year. It came as no surprise when Ferrara was nominated as the "Best
Stand Up Comedian Of The Year" at multiple American Comedy Awards
since.
Ferrara
has since become a regular performer at the world-renowned "JUST FOR
LAUGHS." Adams appearances at the Festival include a variety
of shows, special events, and the prestigious closing night gala where
he has shared the stage with Louise Anderson, Don Rickels and David
Schwimmer.
From Stand-up to Sit-coms
After honing his comedic
skills, on the comedy club circuit, comedian Adam Ferrara moved
up to headlining the circuit. In 1993 Ferrara made his acting debut
on television with a guest staring role on the short lived sitcom
Flying Blind. In the years since he has taken center
stage as an accomplished comedic actor both guest starring
on television series and as a main cast member in several weekly
TV series.
Ferrara's numerous television appearances acting, down through the
years, have included a recurring role on NBC's hit comedy, "Caroline
In The City" - playing Pete Spadaro, as well as multiple gueststarring
roles on CBS's "King of Queens". Ferrara can be seen alongside
"King of Queens" star Kevin James in this year's HIT comedy
movie "Paul Blart: Mall Cop".
Most
recently, Ferrara can be seen playing 'Needles'
Nelson on FX cable network's "Rescue Me" opposite Denis
Leary. Before "Rescue Me" Ferrara played Tommy Manetti
opposite Leary's Mike McNeil
character on ABC's "The Job". A photo gallery of some of
Ferrara's TV work can be seen by

Generally regarded as "The Kid," comic Adam Ferrara is a New Yorker
to the core. Born in Queens and raised on Long Island, Ferrara moved
to Los Angeles for career purposes in the 90s, but ABC's "The
Job" brought him back East where he has lived ever since. When
he's not performing, Ferrara relaxes by shooting pool and watching
classic comedies...because, of course he loves to laugh.
